As of today there are 8,432 homes for sale in the 9 county area covered by our MLS for less than $250,000.  This many affordable homes for sale in one price range is a great selection, and makes it a strong buyers market.  More selection, creates better choices for you. Using my search site, or anyone's, you should be able to line these homes up, from similar areas, side by side and determine fairly quickly which will fit your needs best.  I chose a somewhat arbitrary number, $250,000, but this is pretty much the top of a typical first time home buyer, and you can see all the Charlotte homes here.  Yes, granite counters (photo on right) can sometimes be found in homes at $250K here in Charlotte NC!

In Huntersville there are 199 homes for sale for under $250,000 and 85 homes for sale for under $200k

In North Charlotte (28269) there are 548 homes for sale for under $250,000 and 404 homes for sale for under $200k

In Harrisburg there are 70 homes for sale for under $250,000 and 23 homes for under $200k

In Matthews there are 147 homes for sale for under $250,000 and 73 homes for under $200k

In South Charlotte there are 132 homes for sale for under $250k and 45 for under $200k

In Sun City Carolina there are 18 homes for sale for under $250k and 1 home for under $200k

In Uptown Charlotte there are 70 condos for sale for under $250k and 19 condos for under $200k

Last year home prices in Charlotte rose between 2.5% and 4%...tops in the nation. As you can see from the many homes listed above- its a buyer market. Prices have cooled off this year, with a a drop in price in February of about 2%, over last February.  However, if you look below you;ll see many areas are still appreciating.
